Into the West is a casual raiding guild pushing end game content in a relaxed, dedicated, and focused atmosphere that allows open raid signups except in cases when we are pushing end content bosses and need our raid leaders to learn the fights in order to lead later open groups successfully. Into the West typically raids on the weekends, most often on Friday and Saturday nights with completions scheduled as raid members' schedules allow. Raid times are normally at 7:30 PM server time, occasionally pushed forwards or backwards to allow more guildies to attend.

Our current focus is Icecrown Citadel in both 10 and 25 man versions. All loot is handled on the "tier" system in an effort to make the guild stronger as a whole as opposed to gearing up specific raiders. Almost all raids are handled through the Guild Event Manager addon (GEM), and we encourage all recruits interested in raiding to download and install it immediately.

Raid leaders will occasionally ask raid members to drop raid due to low output. Be it from a bad connection, a bad rotation, or for whatever reason, if a raid will be held back due to an individual, we politely ask that individual to allow the rest of the raid to progress successfully without them. This will happen only when the raw numbers of an encounter (DPS vs. enrage timers, for example) will prevent success, and the player in question will always be made aware of the problem before they are saved to the instance whenever possible. Low DPS or healing output is not the only factor; overall performance is the true standard. Our guild members will work with these individuals in every way possible to help them address the problem and get back to raiding as soon as possible.
